Sustainability at DGI Byen

DGI Byen is actively engaged in the fight for a more sustainable world. We are Green Key certified and receive green energy from wind turbines.

NEW! As of January 1, 2025, DGI Byen switched to 100% green energy from wind turbines.
We are now taking a meaningful step towards a greener future by transitioning to 100% green energy, which means that all our facilities, from the swimming pool to CPH Hotel, will now be powered by renewable energy. This is ensured by sourcing electricity from a wind turbine at the Østerild Test Center in North Jutland. The switch to green energy is one of several initiatives that, over the coming years, will reduce DGI Byen's climate impact.

We are reducing our CO2 footprint by 1,500 tons annually
With the new switch to 100% green energy, DGI Byen will reduce its annual CO2 emissions by approximately 1,500 tons, which corresponds to the average yearly CO2 emissions of about 125 people. The transition to 100% green energy means that all guests and users support a greener future simply by choosing DGI Byen as a conference venue, sports arena, or for leisure activities.
