Sygt Stærke Drømme – DGI Byen supports young voices
Proceeds from activities in Øksnehallen help make meaningful initiatives possible throughout DGI Byen
– for example, Sygt Stærke Drømme
Sygt Stærke Drømme portrays 12 young people with serious or chronic physical illness from SygtStærk, sharing their dreams for the future in words, images, and sound. Dreams know no bounds – unfortunately, sometimes the system does. We can and must do better!
That's why we’re happy to have contributed to making Sygt Stærke Drømme possible to exhibit here at DGI Byen, where, together with SygtStærk, we also marked the opening with a moving and powerful reception. An evening full of voices, courage, and hope – right in a house all about community, movement, and opportunities.

A healthy association life with support from DGI Byen
DGI Byen exists to strengthen communities, movement, and well-being. That's why part of the proceeds from activities in Øksnehallen are reinvested to improve facilities for nearly 65 of the City of Copenhagen's institutions and sports associations who use DGI Byen as their home ground.

Community and public health
Meaningful experiences
DGI Byen provides the setting for a wide range of cultural and health-oriented events – both our own and those created by passionate individuals and outside organisers.
When Øksnehallen is buzzing with life, it’s not only an experience for participants – it also generates a financial surplus, which we invest back into the venue. This makes it possible to keep prices down, open the doors to more people, and ensure great facilities for the benefit of the city.
OMBOLD tournamentsFootball for the homeless and vulnerable
OMBOLD is a football and sports community for adults (+18 years) in vulnerable situations. At DGI Byen and OMBOLD we share a common vision: to create communities that strengthen both body and mind. That’s why we’re happy to host this year’s OMBOLD Christmas Tournament and a summer tournament in 2024 – two days where football, community, and good vibes go hand in hand.
